Naming conventions for Igniteshow.com

Cities are the top-level group
Events are under one city
Videos are under one event (and city)
Tags and search are global

Title - Keep this field to just the talk title. Remove the speaker's name.
Description - be fun, be informative.
Speaker - Put your speaker name in here. Add to their bio if possible. Check if the speaker already exists as many people speak at multiple events.
Date/Location - will come from the associated city and event

Ignite events are global. They need to have unique names.
Name your event "Ignite " eg. “Ignite Sebastopol 6”

Name your city with as much detail as needed. IN most cases this is just the city name (like "Seattle"
IN some cases (like Boston Spatial) two words are needed. Go for it!

Tags are keywords that help users find your video
Try to keep tags topical; try to reuse tags when adding videos
Do not use a city name as a tag unless the talk is about that city
Do not use the speaker name as a tag because their name is automatically tagged

Streaming Your Ignite Event with UStream (needs an update)

If you have the bandwidth to stream your Ignite event, we’ve made it easy for you to include it on your igniteshow.com page. Though not overly complex, there are a few things you’ll have to do in order to get up and running—you’ll have to create a “Live Embed” with your UStream account and embed it on your igniteshow.com page. The steps involved are explained below.

UStream instructions:

Log in to UStream. If you don't yet have an account, set one up.
Next, create a Channel for your Ignite event. It's best to create a new Channel for each Ignite you produce to keep the video/show separate and unique. Don't forget to pimp your channel with your logo, colors, etc.
Grab the "Live Embed" code shown in the lower right-hand corner for pasting into Igniteshow site.

Now, on to Igniteshow.com:

Navigate you your city page
Click "city admin" in the admin nav bar at the top of the page
Click "Add UStream" in the right-hand menu
Enter a unique title. Refer to the IgniteShow.com Naming Conventions doc for info in keeping naming consistent.
Paste the link into the "Video Source" field
Enter a description
Type in the name of the associated event, which you should already have set up. If you have, it will auto-lookup as you type
