Ignite Great Lakes, the first-ever regional Ignite event, is coming to the Fillmore Detroit in Detroit, MI on July 30. Building on the success of 30+ local Ignites in Michigan, Ontario, Ohio, and throughout the Great Lakes region, Ignite Great Lakes will feature 14 of the best presentations from the Midwest.
To register, see ignitegreatlakes.eventbrite.com.
Hosted in conjunction with Maker Faire Detroit, Ignite Great Lakes will serve as an "after hours" event for Maker Faire attendees and locals alike. The evening kicks off with a MAKE contest, challenging teams of audience members to build build a bristlebot, a miniature robot made with a toothbrush head and a pager motor. The bristlebots will then be raced down one of four tracks. After the "stock" race, participants can use any number of materials from pipe cleaners to googly eyes to the contents of their pockets to modify their bristlebots.
Can't make it? We'll be streaming the talks live, starting at 8:15pm ET.
