Allen Lynch, Manager - Waste Reduction, North Shore Recycling Program, North Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

Al has held his current position since 1990 and is responsible for planning and administering all waste reduction and recycling programs for the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver and the District of West Vancouver. In his current capacity, Al has written an Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan, implemented curbside recycling programs for all single and multi-family homes, established a staffed recycling drop-off depot and set up a comprehensive community outreach program. The municipalities have the highest recycling rate in the region. He also administers the weekly garbage and yard trimmings collection program for West Vancouver. He has a B.A. (Commerce) degree from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. Al has been a SWANA member since 1990 and is currently International Past President.
