Australia and GGOS - Gary Johnston by Gary Johnston

The Group Leader of the Earth Monitoring and Hazards Group at Geoscience Australia. He is a member of the International GNSS Service (IGS) Governing Board and the Vice Chair of the Global Geodetic Observing System Interagency Committee (GIAC). In Australia Gary oversees the maintenance and enhancement of the National Coordinate Datum.

Over the past 12 months Gary has led the development of the Australian Government National Positioning Infrastructure (NPI) plan as part of the Satellite Utilisation Policy. The NPI plan addresses the strategic use of GNSS to deliver a national Positioning, Navigation and Timing capability.
