Chad Edwards is the Chief Telecommunications Engineer for NASA's Mars Exploration Program and acting Chief Technologist for the Mars Exploration Directorate at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Prior to this current assignment he managed the research and development program for NASA's Deep Space Network.

He received an A.B. in Physics from Princeton University and a Ph. D. in Physics from the California Institute of Technology. When not busy with his "NASA day gig", Chad enjoys playing jazz piano with a number of musical groups in the Los Angeles area.
