I grew up in Tokyo. Now I write articles about culture, technology, and human rights for publications like Wired, Popular Science, and the New York Times Magazine. I have also produced several radio segments for American Public Media, Public Radio International, and WNYC.
I'm also a Contributing Editor at Boing Boing, and last year, I wrote a book about Urawaza.
