Is living outside the United States right for you?
Chances are you have a friend who has left the United States to live somewhere else. According to the Bureau of Consular Affairs there are around 4 million non-government non-military Americans living outside the U.S. One of the main reasons driving this trend is early retirees are looking for ways to get more bang for their buck. However, cost alone is not driving this trend. Living overseas can add some adventure to a life that has become stale. The decision to move overseas can generate a whole bunch of questions and fear. Kevin will address some of the questions one should ask themselves before going as well as some of the popular spots for Americans around the world.
Kevin taught High School Social Studies for three years in Mexico City and two years in Damascus, Syria. During this period he traveled through 24 countries. After returning to the US, he settled down in AZ and got his MBA from ASU. He is also a performance poet and photographer. He has featured at the Willow House, Jacksons on 3rd, the Paper Heart, the Trunk Space and Club Io. His photography has been displayed at the Lost Leaf, the Trunk Space, 4 White Walls, Ezzenza Coffee House and the Firehouse.
